Journey
Aloysius Migadde is a storyteller, not with words but rather through guitar riffs. Hailing from Uganda, he is a recording artist, performer, and guitarist known for his creative style of using the guitar to create sounds typical of traditional African instruments.
Growing up in a nuclear family of 3 children, his journey began in high school, transitioning from choir to brass and jazz bands before fully embracing the guitar. Holding a Bachelor’s in Music, he has graced festivals like Jazz Safari, Nyegenyege, Fête de la Musique, and Bayimba while collaborating with bands such as Black Roots Unlimited and Tropical Noyz. He has also interned with the Lake of Stars Festival in Malawi and the Kenya Schools’ Music Festival.
In 2019, he released Bakisimba, a seven-track album where his guitar mimics the Ndingidi (tube fiddle). His goal? To redefine how the guitar interprets indigenous African sounds. He followed up with "Eka Ewaffe" in 2020, another seven-track masterpiece that lets the guitar take center stage in its purest form.
